Nestled in the quiet community of Leeds, Alabama, Mt Hebron Cemetery is more than a final resting place—it is a reflection of deep roots, rich heritage, and lasting legacy. Adjacent to the cemetery stands a historic one-room schoolhouse, once alive with the laughter and lessons of local children. Though its doors closed long ago, its presence remains a powerful symbol of the community’s dedication to education, faith, and togetherness.
The Mt Hebron Cemetery Association was formed to preserve this important piece of history. Through volunteer stewardship, donations, and community engagement, we work to ensure the cemetery remains cared for, respected, and accessible for all who visit. From mowing grass and repairing markers to organizing Decoration Day events and genealogical research, our work is grounded in love, memory, and duty.
